Practicalities and Cost
We will start with an initial appointment, or ‘assessment session’, to decide between us if counselling is right for you at this time and if I am the right counsellor for you. It is an opportunity to meet, discuss your needs and expectations and allow a decision to be made as to whether you’d like to continue with counselling.
Counselling is weekly, for a 50 minute session (the therapeutic hour), on a day and time that is mutually convenient. I offer short term (min 6 sessions) or longer term therapy.
We can review the work regularly to ensure your needs are being met and the work continues to be productive.
I charge £55 per hour session with payment being made at the beginning or end of each session.
The initial ‘assessment session’ is charged at £27.50.
This rate covers my time plus overheads including room hire. It also contributes to the cost of retaining professional BACP membership status – this includes continual professional development, regular supervision, professional insurance and memberships.
- In the event of late arrival for an appointment, I am unable to extend beyond the agreed finish time.
- Appointments will be charged for in full if cancelled without sufficient notice. This includes non-attendance of appointments. More details will be supplied at the first meeting.
